World generator
I’ve been goofing around with procedural generation. I thought it’d be cool to create a generator that’d generate a full world map, finished with biotopes, cities and roads/rivers. After banging my head a bit, I finally managed to make the heightmapping create at least somewhat interesting landscapes. Next I shall get to the different environments. These shall be decided by moisture and temperature, along with the height.

i sat here thinking for minutes how you a) create your heightmap and b) how the rest could be working.
the result is really great, especially with this plain colors it looks so lovely lively.
now the question is, do you really want to create a roguelike? with traveling and stuff? or more something that suits the current perspective (i.e. somekind of strategical game, probably german-board-game like creationistic/management thingy)?
what are you currently developing this in (language / system)?

I use Multimedia Fusion 2 for everything. I haven’t really decided what to do with this yet, but I hope it’ll be cool.
